Thermal renovation in old buildings are subsidized
The subsidies amount to 2`000.- to 200`000.- CHF and are calculated depending on the individual components as well as their area. The amount of the expected subsidies can be estimated with the table below itself. Subsidies are paid per category of measures only once.
Funding application
The funding application and the power of attorney must generally be submitted in full and in paper form, including all attachments. Submissions via email are not sufficient. The content of applications will only be processed once the application documents have been received in full.

Te new funding rates for thermal insulation measures apply to applications from September 24, 2024.
If you have not yet begun work, you can have a received funding commitment declared null and void and submit a funding application with new conditions from September 24, 2024. To do so, please send us an email (no earlier than September 24, 2024) to info.energie@llv.li, stating your name, address, and the file number of the funding commitment, and confirming that the existing commitment is declared null and void, the measure has not yet begun, and the measure is to be funded under the new funding conditions. After a brief review, you will receive a new funding commitment from the Energy Office with the new funding amount. After receiving the new funding commitment, you can begin construction of the thermal insulation measures.
Minimum funding level The funding measure must be so extensive that it reaches the funding contribution of 2`000 CHF.
Annexes and conversions / changes of use In the case of conversions, only existing areas, which are energetically renovated, are promoted. Measures are not promoted according to Art. 4 para 2a EEG, if they are mandatory due to other legal provisions. This applies to the creation of new areas (e.g. extension or attic addition) and changes of use of previously unheated rooms into newly heated rooms (e.g. attic or loft into new residential use).
Year of construction Only buildings with a building permit before March 30, 1993 are eligible.
Refunding Funding contributions are paid only once for each measure; renewed funding of the same measure is only possible after 20 years.
Forfeiture of the claim The claim for the payment of subsidies expires if the measures are started before a legally binding assurance of the subsidies is available.
Project author The subsidies are only paid if a competent planning and execution of the measures is guaranteed.
Termination The assurance of the subsidy is limited in time according to Art. 25 EEG. The measure must be started within one year from the decision on the granting of subsidies and completed within two years.
Moving other regulations The measure is not subsidized if it is mandatory due to other legal regulations according to Art 4. para. 2a) EEG (e.g. superstructure plan, air conditioning, swimming pool heating, conversion, etc.).
